A New Jersey man was sentenced on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, to five to 10 years in state prison for robbery related to the June 2021 killing of Kevin Rosero in Richland Township.

Joshua David Gamble, 20, of Somerset, pleaded guilty in November 2022 to robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

His brother, Anthony Joel Gamble, 22, of Somerset, N.J., was sentenced in the fall to 25 to 55 years in state prison after pleading guilty to third-degree murder and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery.

In addition to sending him to state prison, Judge Finley sentenced Gamble to a serve four years of probation for the “senseless act of greed that destroyed the Rosero family and seriously impacted the Gamble family.”

Family and friends of Kevin Rosero, 26, of Somerset, N.J., presented impact statements at Wednesday’s sentencing before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley.

Rosero was a Rutgers University graduate who had dreams of becoming an immigration attorney. His college mentor described him as a “beacon of light to all who he came into contact with. His presence provided love, light, and warmth.”

Rosero’s mother and father both provided impact statements, which were read in court by Deputy District Attorney Monica Furber and Bucks County Detective Tim Perkins.

“We were robbed of so many moments,” his father said.

The brothers are accused of robbing and killing Rosero during a botched robbery of $400.

Pennsylvania State Troopers caught the brothers in the act of hiding Rosero’s body just after midnight on June 17, 2021, in a wooded area in the 500 block of East Pumping Station Road in Richland Township. 

Rosero was stabbed 28 times in the face, neck, upper torso, and upper extremities, and a large, bloodied knife was found at the scene, along with sanitizing wipes and coated work gloves that the brothers used to try and clean the scene.

This case was investigated by Detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Richland Township Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Monica W. Furber, with assistance from former Deputy District Attorney Kristi Hoover.
