ACTIVE INCIDENT AT CENTRAL DAUPHIN HIGH SCHOOL
FEBRUARY 15, 2024 (1400 hours)
The Lower Paxton Bureau of Police is continuing to work with the Central Dauphin School District on the active incident at Central Dauphin East High School.
FEBRUARY 15, 2024 - UPDATE FROM CD EAST HIGH SCHOOL
This is an important update from Mr. Aaron McConnell, Superintendent of CDSD:
On February 15, 2024 at approximately 8:45AM staff received information that there was a weapon on property at Central Dauphin East High School. The school was immediately placed on lock down and resources immediately dispatched to the scene.
East High School remains in administrative lockdown at this time. ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE SAFE.
We have verified information that there is a weapon in the building. As of the time of this statement the weapon has not yet been located. Law enforcement and K9 units continue a methodical search of the building.
At this time we are seeing a lot of false information appearing on social media. We are asking the public to refrain from posting rumor and speculation as it can lead to panic.
Again, everyone is safe.
Students may NOT leave East High School until it is cleared by law enforcement. CDSD will keep you informed with more details as they become available.
