COP- Community Outreach Program
Our Community Outreach Program (COP) is designed to focus on gaining a relationship between the Lycoming Regional Police Department and the communities it serves. By Interacting with our communities in various ways and developing strong relationships, we can build a mutual trust. When that trust is built, we can reduce crime, decrease the fear of crime, and make our communities safe and vibrant for everyone.
The COP was re-established in January of 2023 when Old Lycoming Police Department and Tiadaghton Regional Police Department merged, forming the new Lycoming Regional Police Department. This program is made up of officers within the department who strive to connect with the communities and promote the safety on our streets. The Lycoming Regional Police Department community outreach strategy enables our officers to engage directly with neighborhood associations, faith-based agencies, nonprofit organizations, and local residents to develop positive relationships with federal, state and local law enforcement and judicial agencies, with the ultimate goal to collaborate on strategies to defend the interests and rights of our citizens.
