A preliminary hearing was held Larry Burns, of Chambersburg, Franklin County, before Magisterial District Judge H. Anthony Adams on May 12, 2022.  On April 16, 2022, Trooper Shawn Barry of the Pennsylvania State Police in Carlisle charged Larry Burns with Criminal Homicide, Arson, Conspiracy, and related offenses for a double homicide and arson that took place at a residence in Southampton Township, Cumberland County on February 23, 2022. The Commonwealth alleges that Larry Burns and his co-defendant shot and killed the two victims and then set the home on fire. Following the Defendant’s extradition from North Carolina, a preliminary hearing was held before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge H. Anthony Adams on May 12, 2022. All charges were held for court. The Criminal Complaint, Affidavit of Probable Cause, and related documents previously sealed are now publicly available.
