ATTENTION PEQUEA TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY!!!  THIS TIME,  WE NEED YOUR HELP.  

The Pequea Township Police Department will be moving locations in the very, VERY near future. We are moving from the Township meeting room to the New Danville Fire Company Banquet room. This move is much needed as our current set up is not ideal for a police department, and the Township needs the room back to conduct township business.

The Township has signed a five year lease with the New Danville Fire Company which puts us in what is now a large single room. We have designed the new station to include much needed police related amenities that we do not currently have. The new station will have holding cells, an interview room, Sergeant office, Chief office, male and female locker rooms, a conference room, secretary office and lobby. Evidence storage will be more secure with upgraded security as will all of the files. Many other features are being added to upgrade security and the safety of officers.

Now what we need from you:
Monetary Donations - This project came up quickly and little money is allotted in the budget. If we are going to successfully build this project we have envisioned we will rely on donations from area residents and businesses. Our goal is $20,000 and we are off to a good start but are still about $13,000 short. As a matter of ethics and integrity, officers may not accept donations so all donations must be sent directly to Pequea Township 1028 Millwood Rd. Willow Street PA 17584. Donations should be in the form of a check or money order with “Police Donation” in the memo line.

Volunteers – The project will be constructed mainly by volunteers. If you are an experienced framer, drywaller, painter, or electrician we could use your help. Please contact Chief Michener at michenerj@pequeatownshippd.org or 717-945-7546 if you can help. Reach out ASAP.

The construction could start as early as 11/17 and moving day is 12/14 so we have little time to pull this off. I have a great police station envisioned which, if this works, will be able to service Pequea Township residents and business in a safe and professional way for years to come. This is a chance for our community to come together and build something that we can all be proud off. I’ve always said that a police department will only be as strong as the community support around it. We are fortunate to work in a great community with lots of support. We don’t often ask you for help, but now is that time.
