On June 6, 2019, at approximately 6 p.m., Joshua “Black” Sneed left his residence at Laurel Villa Apartment Complex in DeLand, to go to a local store to purchase cigarettes. He hasn’t been seen since.
The DeLand Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the public's assistance in the disappearance of Sneed.
Family members reported him missing on June 22, 2019, after they were unable to contact him for several weeks. According to relatives, Joshua regularly communicated with family and friends, making his sudden disappearance highly unusual and out of character.
Since the initial report, investigators have conducted an extensive and ongoing investigation that has included numerous witness interviews, forensic examinations, searches of multiple locations, analysis of digital evidence, and coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives developed information that led them to believe Joshua may have been the victim of foul play. However, the case remains open. Investigators continue to pursue new leads and information, and are committed to finding answers and seeking justice for Joshua and his loved ones.
