Detectives with the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) have arrested a 48-year-old man for today's armed robbery of a Circle K gas station on Ashley Phosphate Rd.

At approximately 12:14pm this afternoon, an unidentified male individual entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash from the register. After obtaining the money, the suspect fled the premises.

Following an intensive and coordinated investigation with Patrol officers, detectives were able to identify Jason Cory Ogburn as the suspect in this robbery. He was located at a nearby motel and was apprehended without further incident. Evidence linking him to the robbery was located at Ogburn's motel room, after detectives executed a search warrant. A replica firearm, nearly indistinguishable from a real weapon, was also recovered in this investigation.

Ogburn is charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. He was lodged at the Al Canon Detention Center.
