Detectives with the North Charleston Police Department’s (NCPD's) Special Victims Unit have arrested a third suspect in connection with the alleged sexual assault and attempted prostitution of a juvenile.
On Thursday afternoon, officers took 56-year-old Christine Wallace into custody outside a motel on Rivers Avenue. She is charged with Promoting the Prostitution of a Minor.
Two other individuals were previously arrested in the case. Renard Karij Deveaux, 48, faces charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor (3rd Degree), Assault and Battery (2nd Degree), and Possession of Cocaine. Amber Lee McClure is charged with Promoting Prostitution.
Additionally, Deveaux had outstanding arrest warrants with both the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and Clarendon County Sheriff's Office. Both suspects were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. These arrests were a result of a coordinated effort by our Special Victims Unit detectives, Patrol officers, and Intelligence Led Policing Unit. Good job to all!
