🚨 SCAM ALERT: Protect Yourself & Others 🚨
The Issue:
We are seeing an increase in scams targeting our community. Individuals are being contacted and told they missed jury duty, have a warrant, unpaid PennDOT fines, or other urgent legal matters.
How It Happens:
Scammers may use official-looking documents, fake phone numbers, or even claim to be law enforcement. They often pressure victims to act quickly and demand payment.
Our Duty:
We want to remind everyone: even if it looks real or sounds official, it is most likely a scam. Law enforcement will never demand immediate payment over the phone or request payment through gift cards, apps, or unusual methods.
What To Do:
✅ Do NOT send money or provide personal information
✅ Hang up or stop communication immediately
✅ Contact your local police department or sheriff’s office to verify
✅ Report the incident so others can be warned
💡 When in doubt, check it out. A quick call can save you from becoming a victim.
