Incident

On Thursday, October 7^th, 2021 at approximately 8:23am, a York City police officer was responding to an unrelated call for service. While enroute to the call, this officer came upon a shooting in progress in the 800 block E. King St. Observing this exchange of gunfire, the officer intervened, returning fire that was directed towards one of the shooters who subsequently fled the scene.

Recognizing that another individual sustained a gunshot wound, the officers provided medical aid until EMS arrived. The victim, a 15 year-old male, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

The investigation of the incident is continuing in conjunction with the DA's Office, and our officers use of force is being reviewed by the PA State Police.
