Incident Update

After a thorough investigation and consultation with the York County District Attorney’s office, no charges will be filed in the shooting death of Rickey Cox. This incident is being ruled a justifiable homicide.

Initial Incident

 On Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, at 6:56pm, York City Police responded to the 15 N. Penn St (Asian Best) for a reported shooting. On scene, officers learned that the victim, Rickey Cox, a 34-year-old male, attempted to rob the store clerk. During the attempted robbery, the victim was shot and died on the scene. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
