This is a good time for parents to sit down with their kids and talk about traffic safety - or better yet, get out with your kids and ride with them and show them the proper side of the street to ride on, when to stop and go and to keep an eye on their surroundings. Education about rules of the road is important for your children's safety. Operators on bicycles and scooters need to follow the same rules of the road as vehicles. Helmets are also required for anyone under the age of 12-years-old who is riding a bicycle, but it's still recommended at all ages. Other protective gear may help with younger riders who are beginning to learn. Helping us keep your kids safe starts at home.
