On February 28, 2026, at approximately 2023 hours, officers from the Springettsbury Township Police Department were dispatched to a report of a fire in the 2400 block of E Market St.  After locating the fire in a wooded area, officers located a victim suffering serious injuries sustained during an assault.  A second subject, identified as the defendant, Zachary Orwig (39), was located nearby.  As a result of this response and subsequent investigation, Orwig was arrested and charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Simple Assault, and Strangulation.
