Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge preservation project starting Monday, May 4, will close the Route 216 (Blooming Grove Road) bridge spanning Lake Marburg in Penn and West Manheim townships, York County. 

The bridge will be closed to all traffic for approximately 12 days during construction. A detour will be in place using Grandview Road (Route 3068), Black Rock Road (Route 3070), Hobart Road (Route 3058), and Blue Hill Road (Route 3037). 

Work under this contract consists of replacing the bridge deck joints, repairing all deck deterioration, providing a new deck wearing surface, and other miscellaneous construction. 

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $507,763 bridge preservation project. All work is expected to be completed by June 4, 2026.
