The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office is featuring an unsolved major crimes case, monthly, in an effort to renew leads, potentially generate new evidence, and substantiate information that could cultivate an arrest.

Unsolved missing persons case: Teresa Rhodes, 13

South Greensburg, PA – Teresa ‘Teri’ Rhodes, 13, went missing on September 27, 1975, after she left her South Greensburg residence to babysit with a friend. 

Throughout the course of the investigation, police believe the two may have stopped at a house party along the way and that was the last time anyone saw Teri alive. 

Early on, tips led police to scour and search in parks in Greensburg and Pittsburgh, however, digs at those sites turned up empty. 

Rhodes was an eighth grader at St. Paul’s Middle School at the time of her disappearance. 

Law enforcement agencies from South Greensburg, Greensburg City, Pennsylvania State Police, and Westmoreland County Detectives have investigated Rhodes’ disappearance over the years. 

Several persons of interest were identified throughout the course of the investigation, but information and evidence never culminated in an arrest or criminal charges.
