Westmoreland County, PA -- Westmoreland County Camp Cadet Association and Pennsylvania State Police are accepting applications for the 2026 Camp Cadet Program.
The program enlists children between the ages of 12 and 15 years old from Westmoreland County to spend a week with law enforcement to learn more about the profession.
Camp Cadet educates the area's youth about the criminal justice system and the role of law enforcement.
During the weeklong camp, counselors place an emphasis on pride, integrity, respect, self-discipline and self-esteem, responsibility, teamwork, and community involvement.
The Westmoreland County Camp Cadet Association, a non-profit, operates through fundraisers and the generosity of community businesses and citizens. As a result, children from all social and economic backgrounds have the opportunity to attend the camp at no cost to them or their parents.
The program accepts a maximum of 50 cadets, and cadets are eligible to attend Camp Cadet only one time.
