New Kensington, PA -- A gruesome scene played out in front of Valley High School on Friday morning aimed to teach students about the dangers of distracted driving ahead of the school's upcoming prom.
Students helped play roles that portrayed the real-life consequences of being distracted behind the wheel.
In addition to students, first responders from New Kensington Police, New Kensington Fire Department, local emergency medical services, the coroner's office, and forensic detectives from the district attorney's office helped simulate the program.
Organizers hope the mock crash encourages good decision-making from students and ultimately prevents tragedies.
