Greensburg, PA -- The Office of Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli was honored to attend the annual State Police Memorial Day service held at the Greensburg barracks on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
On May 2, 1905, the Pennsylvania State Police was formed, becoming the first uniformed police organization of its kind in the United States.
Active and retired troopers stood in solidarity saluting the 11 troopers from Troop A who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The service recognized the faithful and unwavering dedication thousands of troopers have shown to the Commonwealth for the past 118 years, and also reflected and honored those who paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting Pennsylvanians.
Troop A also dedicated a permanent memorial for the fallen that sits outside of Troop A headquarters in Greensburg.
