New Kensington, PA -- Westmoreland County Detectives represented the district attorney's office at a scam jam event held by Representative Jill Cooper.

The event included local, county, and state law enforcement agencies to warn of the dangers and signs presented by scammers. 

County detectives shared insight into recent trends, techniques, and sophisticated tactics used to target purported victims. 

Representatives from the Area Agency on Aging and a consumer advocate from AARP also presented at the scam jam. 

The purpose of the event is to educate the public about current fraudulent schemes, how to avoid falling victim, and provide a host of resources to prevent crimes involving fraud and potential scams. 

The event was held at the New Kensington Senior Center on Third Avenue in New Kensington.
