UPDATE 4/24: 

New Kensington, PA – Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli, in cooperation with New Kensington Police Department, is releasing the following update to the double shooting that occurred in New Kensington on April 23, 2023.

Divine Warner, 16, of Arnold, was shot near Valley Royal Court in New Kensington after an exchange of gunfire with another man, Dylan Walmsley, 19, of South Greensburg.

Warner died at a nearby hospital. Walmsley was shot in the abdomen but is expected to survive.

Investigators have confirmed the shooting was an isolated incident; there is no further threat to the public.

New Kensington, PA – New Kensington Police and the Office of Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli are actively investigating a double shooting in New Kensington on April 23, 2023, at approximately 12 p.m.

The shooting happened at the Valley Royal Court apartments on Fourth Avenue in New Kensington.

New Kensington Police and County Detectives are investigating and can confirm one male is dead and another is injured following the double shooting.

We would like to reassure the public there is no threat to the community, the scene is contained, and this was an isolated incident.

This remains an active investigation. The Office of the District Attorney will release more details when deemed appropriate.
