Hempfield Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police arrested a Hempfield Township man accused of shooting and killing another man on New Year's Eve.
Troopers responded to a residence on Hugh Street after the alleged actor called 911 and confessed to killing another man in the evening hours of December 31, 2025.
State police said Robert Naugle, 30, called 911 and stated, "I walked in on my wife with another man and I killed him."
Troopers responded to the residence and detained Naugle at the scene.
The victim, James Thomas, was discovered inside of the basement portion of the residence, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
Investigators recovered a Glock 19 pistol from the scene and multiple spent casings near the victim's body.
Naugle was interviewed by police and claimed he drove by the residence in the evening and observed a vehicle in the driveway.
Naugle told troopers he walked into the basement and saw the victim inside and fired approximately 10 rounds.
The estranged wife of Naugle told troopers that Naugle filed for divorce in November of 2025 and moved out several days prior to the incident.
Naugle was charged with criminal homicide and remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison and denied bail.
