Greensburg, PA -- A Somerset County man was sentenced to serve 5 to 10 years in prison after hitting and killing a man with his vehicle in Ligonier Township nearly four years ago.
Adam Ulrich, 45, pled guilty to homicide by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence of a controlled substance for the accident that took the life of Jason Zollinger, of Hempfield Township.
Zollinger was riding his bicycle toward Laurel Mountain on Route 30 in Ligonier Township in October of 2019 when he was struck and killed by Ulrich.
At the time, Ulrich was under the influence of a combination of drugs including methadone.
Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli is hopeful this sentence provides some closure to the Zollingers and appreciates the patience and dedication shown by Assistant District Attorney Michael Pacek for prosecuting this case.
