New Alexandria, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police charged a New Alexandria man with aggravated animal cruelty after a family pet was killed and subsequently burned.
Tyler Rost-Maiolie, 27, is facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty, neglect of animals, cruelty to animals, and recklessly endangering another person.
State police said a neighbor near Guthrie Road in New Alexandria reported to troopers that they saw Rost-Maiolie standing in the middle of the street firing a gun in the air for approximately 30 minutes.
Troopers responded and spoke to Rost-Maiolie and learned he tortured and killed the family's pet cat.
The cat's burned remains were found in a fire pit nearby.
Rost-Maiolie was remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail following his arraignment.
