East Huntingdon, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police arrested a Connellsville man after a reported shooting in the parking lot of a Planet Fitness in East Huntingdon Township on January 13, 2026. 

Troopers received multiple 911 calls on Tuesday afternoon relaying there was a gunshot wound victim in the parking lot of Crossroads Plaza, and the alleged actor fled the scene in a black Ford truck. 

The victim was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and allegedly identified Heald as the shooter, according to troopers. 

Troopers recovered surveillance video from the scene which corroborated witness accounts. 

Investigators located the registration of the truck and identified the owner as Steven Heald, of Connellsville. 

As officers attempted to respond to Heald's home in Connellsville, they learned Heald turned himself in at the Connellsville Police Station where he was taken into custody by state police. 

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his shoulder, buttocks, hip and thigh, and suffered several lacerations on his hand, face, and head area. 

Heald was arraigned and denied bail.
