Hempfield Township, PA -- A Youngwood man was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police after attacking a motorist and wielding a weapon at a restaurant nearby.
Troopers were called to Route 30 near West Hills Drive in Hempfield Township on September 11, 2026 for a motor vehicle incident.
Police located a victim inside of his vehicle with a split lip and swollen mouth.
The victim relayed to troopers that the suspect pulled out in front of him and stopped his vehicle in the middle of the roadway.
As the victim attempted to steer around the stopped vehicle, the suspect rammed his vehicle into the victim's car.
Troopers said once both vehicles were stopped, the suspect got out and punched the victim in the face several times and threatened to kill him if he did not turn over his wallet.
The defendant fled the scene before state police were then called to Plaza Azteca nearby for a man in the parking lot possibly wielding a knife.
An employee from Plaza Azteca relayed to troopers that the man showed up and pulled in front of the parking lot to prevent customers from leaving.
As the employee attempted to confront the suspect, they told police the suspect retreated to his vehicle and retrieved an arrow and began chasing the employee around the parking lot with the arrow.
The employee ran back inside of the restaurant after the suspect threw the arrow at him and threatened to kill him.
Police detained Walden Boyer, 58, while Boyer threatened the lives of multiple troopers.
Boyer is facing charges of robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, aggravated assault by vehicle, simple assault, theft, and recklessly endangering another person.
Boyer was denied bail.
