Hempfield Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police, in conjunction with the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, have filed charges against a Hempfield Township man accused of unlawful contact with a minor.
Jonathan Hoover, 25, is a convicted felon and registered Tier I Megan's Law sex offender after pleading guilty to child pornography offenses in 2019.
State Police received a report in June of a Megan's Law violation which occurred on Chapel Drive in Hempfield Township.
Investigators discovered Jonathan Hoover failed to register his social media accounts as required by his Megan's Law status.
Hoover allegedly used his social media accounts to solicit at least two underage female children for sexual favors and explicit materials over the course of several months.
Hoover is accused of befriending a 14-year-old female from Texas, and a 12-year-old female from Utah through social media communication.
As a result of the inappropriate requests and communication, State Police charged Hoover with unlawful contact with a minor, dissemination of obscene and other sexual materials to minors, criminal use of a communication facility, failing to register with Pennsylvania State Police and corruption of minors.
