Greensburg, PA -- Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces the conviction of Leonardo Ramirez, 47, of New Jersey.
Ramirez was charged by state police in August of 2022 after he sold $50,000 worth of fentanyl to an undercover state trooper.
State troopers met Ramirez in a parking lot in New Stanton and exchanged a backpack of money for 100 bricks of fentanyl, containing 5,000 stamp bags.
Ramirez, unaware he was selling the drugs to an undercover office, was quickly detained.
After deliberating for approximately an hour, a jury found Ramirez guilty on all counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance.
Ramirez will be sentenced in the next 90 days.
State police's TACET team, with the assistance of with County Detective Tony Marcocci, led the investigation and were responsible for arresting Ramirez.
