Rostraver Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police and Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announce the arrest of Bryan Salaj, of West Homestead.
Criminal charges of burglary and theft were filed against Salaj by Pennsylvania State Police after Triple A Motorsports was burglarized in March of 2019.
Rostraver Township Police reported to State Police that the Triple A Motorsports on Route 51 was burglarized by several unknown actors.
Police said they arrived in a U-Haul box truck, smashed the entrance door and removed five motorcycles.
The motorcycles were then loaded into the U-Haul and the suspects left toward Route 51 north.
Early on, investigators said they identified Salaj as a suspect in the burglary and theft after he was observed on surveillance video at a Sheetz in Pittsburgh and was seen operating the U-Haul box truck just prior to the theft.
Salaj was interviewed by state troopers in March of 2019 and allegedly admitted to committing the burglary at Triple A Motorsports alongside several other people.
Karon Smith was also charged in connection to the burglary along with several other burglary and theft cases that occurred in multiple areas throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, according to investigators.
Salaj is in the Westmoreland County Prison and was denied bail.
