Greensburg, PA -- Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces the conviction of Nicholas Haluschak, 42.
Haluschak pled guilty on Thursday, April 27, 2023, to possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of firearm prohibited, possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, disorderly conduct and driving under the influence.
Haluschak was sentenced by a judge to 6-12 years in prison.
In December of 2020, Haluschak led police on a 100 mile-per-hour chase through Westmoreland and Fayette Counties before crashing and threatening troopers.
Haluschak was under the influence of drugs and had a loaded handgun in his vehicle.
When troopers tried to pull Haluschak over on Route 51 in Rostraver in 2020, Haluschak took off and fled into Fayette County.
He led police on a pursuit for 7 miles which topped speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
After crashing, Haluschak was taken into custody and threatened that he should have shot at the trooper who pulled him over.
District Attorney Ziccarelli thanks Pennsylvania State Police and Assistant District Attorney Liz Ranger for pursuing a conviction and appropriate sentence.
