Greensburg, PA – Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces the conviction of Daniel Moles, 66, after a three-day trial.
A Westmoreland County jury found Moles guilty of first-degree murder and attempted homicide after deliberating for under three hours.
The November 2021 fatal shooting inside of Woodpeckers Grub & Pub in Upper Burrell claimed the life of Randy Jenereaux, 31.
Prosecutors contended Moles formed specific intent to shoot and kill Jenereaux when he fired two rounds from across the bar at Jenereaux and his twin brother.
Jenereaux’s brother attempted to drive him to a nearby hospital, but Jenereaux died in the vehicle despite life-saving efforts.
DA Ziccarelli said, “This was a senseless and callous crime that tore a family apart and took the life of a young man who had his whole life ahead of him. The actions of Mr. Moles were reprehensible, and I am pleased justice was served for the Jenereaux family.”
Assistant District Attorneys Michael Pacek and Jeremy Mains prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.
