Arnold, PA – Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces the arrest and additional criminal charges against Eric Doutt, of Arnold.
On November 13, 2025, Westmoreland County Detective Bureau assisted agents with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office with an ongoing drug investigation involving Eric Doutt. As a result of the drug investigation, Doutt was arrested in Armstrong County and charged by the Attorney General’s Office.
Doutt previously served as the Chief of Arnold Police Department and was presently employed as a police officer with UPMC.
As a result of the state’s drug investigation, a subsequent search warrant was executed on the residence of Eric Doutt.
Following his arrest, Westmoreland County Detective Bureau and Westmoreland County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Doutt’s residence on Ridge Avenue in Arnold on November 13, 2025.
Doutt allegedly informed investigators that a stolen AR-15 rifle was inside of his residence and was taken from the evidence room of the Arnold Police Department. Doutt allegedly told investigators the rifle was slated as evidence to be destroyed, but instead of destroying it, he took possession of the rifle.
Upon execution of the search warrant, detectives located cocaine inside of the kitchen of Doutt’s residence which field tested positive for cocaine.
Police also discovered a foil bag containing lidocaine hydrochloride, which is believed to be a cutting agent for cocaine.
Several items were located inside of Doutt’s residence that are believed to be stolen from Arnold Police Department including a set of leg shackles engraved with ‘APD’, a leather jacket with Arnold Police Department patches that belonged to a fellow officer, and a portable radio reported missing from the department.
Doutt was charged by Westmoreland County Detectives with theft, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, obstruction, and drug-related offenses.
“It is unfortunate and disheartening that someone who was sworn to uphold and protect the law is accused of violating it so egregiously,” DA Ziccarelli said. “The culmination of this investigation and this arrest would not have been possible without the cooperation from county and state law enforcement partners.”
