North Huntingdon, PA -- A man and woman from Greensburg are facing charges after police discovered drugs in their vehicle within reach of two small children.
North Huntingdon Police responded to the Sheetz gas station on Ronda Court to check on a customer who appeared to be under the influence inside of the store.
Officers located the male inside of a vehicle at one of the gas pumps hunched over and drooling from the mouth.
Police noticed two young children in the back of the vehicle; attempts to wake the male up were unsuccessful until officers opened the door and physically shook the male to get him to respond.
The male was identified as Bradley Bowers, 47. As police were talking to Bowers, his girlfriend, Desiree Dornetta exited the store and walked toward the vehicle.
Dornetta, 37, appeared to be under the influence and allegedly told officers there were drugs inside the vehicle and consented to officers searching the vehicle.
Police located a bag containing 45 stamp bags of suspected heroin, in addition to a backpack containing a loaded pistol, five bricks of heroin, 13 loose stamp bags of heroin, 16 grams of suspected cocaine, a digital scale and multiple empty stamp bags.
Bowers and Dornetta were taken into custody, and the children were placed in the care of a relative.
Bowers and Dornetta are facing possession with intent to deliver, firearm violations, possession charges, and endangering the welfare of children.
The defendants were arraigned and remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $250,000 bail.
