BACK TO SCHOOL — LET’S KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE!

As the students head back to school, the City of Jeannette Police Department wishes everyone a wonderful school year!

Here are a few important reminders:

🚗 DRIVERS — PLEASE PAY ATTENTION
• Slow down and stay alert in school zones and residential areas.
• STOP for school buses when their red lights are flashing. It’s the law.
• Obey speed limits, traffic signs, and crossing guards.
• Watch carefully for children walking, biking, or crossing the street.
• Never pass a stopped school bus with its red lights activated.

👨‍👩‍👧 PARENTS — HAVE THE SAFETY TALK
• Remind your children to use crosswalks and look both ways before crossing.
• Review school bus safety rules.
• Talk to your children about staying aware of their surroundings and never talking to strangers.

🎒 STUDENTS — MAKE SAFE CHOICES
• Look both ways before crossing the street.
• Put the distractions away and stay alert.
• Stay off the roadway and avoid horseplay while waiting for the bus.
• Always listen to and follow your bus driver’s instructions.

Let’s look out for one another, follow the rules, and SLOW DOWN FOR OUR KIDS.
