Sheriff Vennie was pleased to join over three hundred runners, first responders and volunteers at the annual Pike County Tunnel to Towers 5K charity event held in the Fawn Lake Forest Community Saturday morning. This year’s event held special meaning as we approach the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Volunteers donated countless hours organizing and setting up the event. Over three hundred people signed up to participate in the event including many local first responders who ran in full turnout gear.
Trooper Alex Douglass, who was injured in the 2014 ambush at the Blooming Grove State Police barracks was this year’s honoree.
