Corporal Martine and Officer Murray participated in the Verizon Wireless Backpack Giveaway event alongside the Westfall Fire Department and Westfall Ambulance.

During the event, the officers provided an interactive impaired-driving awareness demonstration using Fatal Vision Goggles. Fatal Vision Goggles are designed to simulate the impairing effects of alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving in a safe, controlled environment, allowing participants to experience firsthand how these factors affect coordination, vision, reaction time, and decision-making.

Children had the opportunity to wear the goggles while attempting to play a duck hunt game, giving them a realistic demonstration of the challenges associated with impairment. The activity served as an engaging educational tool to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired and distracted driving and to encourage safe decision-making.
