Milford, Pa.- The Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the sentence of a Hawley resident for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Ryan Cartwright, age 37, of Hawley, PA, previously entered a plea of guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Deliver a controlled substance, a felony. President Judge Gregory H. Chelak sentenced Cartwright to a total sentence of not less than 5 years, nor more than 15 years to a State Correctional Facility and a fine of $500.00. 

 According to the criminal complaint and affidavit, the Pike DA Unlawful Narcotics Investigation Team, along with the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office detectives, the Pennsylvania State Police of Honesdale, Pike County Sheriff’s Office and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant on Cartwright’s residence, 47 East Road, Hawley, but Cartwright was found leaving the residence as Investigators were arriving. Pennsylvania State Police were aware of Cartwrights new location arrival and waited for Cartwright to appear to take him into custody. During the interview, Cartwright admitted to having a quantity of methamphetamine in a wooden box located in his vehicle. Cartwright admitted to selling methamphetamine for several months and had just conducted a sale prior to getting arrested.  

Investigators served a search warrant on Cartwright’s Black Ford 150 and located approximately 250 grams of methamphetamine. 

Cartwright has been held at Pike County Correctional Facility and now will be transferred to a State Correctional Facility to begin serving his sentence.
