On June 2, 2026 at approximately 2030 hours an officer on patrol observed a vehicle driving without a registration plate in Pen Argyl. This was the same vehicle that had previously fled from police. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the offending vehicle began to flee at a high rate of speed driving into the oncoming lane of travel going around traffic. The vehicle continued onto Woodward Avenue in Wind Gap and was located abandoned in a wooded area behind an apartment building. The operator of the vehicle fled on foot and officers were unable to locate him. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle were officers recovered drugs and paraphernalia as well as identifying information for the driver. The driver was identified as Christopher Messinger II. A warrant was later obtained and Messinger was arrested by Lehigh Township Police on numerous warrants.
