**ARRESTED**MARCH 13, 2025**
On Thursday March 13, 2025 at approximately 2:49 AM, a Palmer Township Police Officer was monitoring traffic at the intersection of Greenwood Ave / William Penn Hwy, when he observed fluid leaking out of the rear doors of a blue Ford E350 cargo van bearing a New Jersey registration. The Officer being aware of on-going used cooking oil thefts from businesses in the Lehigh Valley, pulled behind this vehicle and observed an intermediate bulk container through the glass windows. During this time, the Officer observed several motor vehicle violations, and conducted a vehicle stop on the cargo van.
The Officer approached the vehicle and observed a gasoline pump next to the tank, which is commonly used to pump used cooking oil into the tank. The Officer spoke with the operator, who was identified as Vincent D. Polakowski and the passenger identified as Daniel Moses Walker. During the time of the vehicle stop, they provided inconsistent information and were unable to provide any type of proper work order information for pick up, of any used cooking oil at any locations. Officers are familiar with the actual contracted company, that picks up the used cooking oil at the locations stated by both men. Officers confirmed the men are not affiliated with the company.
Both men were taken into Police custody without incident and transported to The Palmer Township Police Department for further processing. Both men were later transported to The Northampton County Central Booking Center and arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Capobianco. They were committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000.00 bail 10% each.
