On Wednesday May 20, 2026 at approximately 9:23 AM, the Palmer Township Police responded to the Home Depot (721 S. 25th Street) for a retail theft in progress, with multiple suspects. Upon arrival, the responding Officer was provided information a female driver driver pulled up to the front of the Home Depot in a gray Honda Civic, got out and quickly went inside the store as the (3) suspects exited the store, got in the same Honda Civic with a Pennsylvania registration, leaving the property. The responding Officer was able to confirm the retail theft of (7) air conditioners. Officers were able to locate the Honda Civic in a nearby neighborhood and conducted a traffic stop. All (4) suspects were taken into custody. Further investigation confirmed Jahayed Rogers was pushing the shopping cart filled with the air conditioners past all points of sales / cash registers. He was transported to the Palmer Police Department for processing. He was later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Hutnik and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000.00 straight bail.
