On Friday August 14, 2026, Palmer Township Police responded to the Mavis Discount Tire at 2481 Park Ave for a disturbance. Upon arrival, the investigating Officer obtained information that a male suspect entered the business and started a verbal argument with the employee after he was advised to leave the property. The male suspect became irate and threatened to punch the employee in his face as he entered his vehicle. The male suspect drove away nearly striking the employee with the vehicle. The male suspect reversed his vehicle and threw a bottle at the employee also displaying a hand gun out the window, at the employee threatening to shoot him. The male suspect drove away in a white Scion. Responding Officers did locate the vehicle with the male suspect operator a few blocks away. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and were able to take the male suspect into custody without further incident. The male suspect was identified as Jacob Cotto Hockman.
He was transported to the Palmer Township Police Department for processing. Further investigation confirmed (2) black pellet hand guns located inside the vehicle. Jacob Cotto Hockman was later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Zito and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000.00 bail.
