The Nazareth Police Department is proud to highlight Officer Thompson’s participation in a community reading celebration at the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity honoring the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
Officer Thompson joined several community guest readers during a special story time event where children and families gathered to celebrate reading and early literacy. As part of the program, Officer Thompson read Dr. Seuss classics to young attendees while interacting with families and encouraging the importance of books and learning.
The event also marked the launch of the library’s new early literacy initiative, "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten," a program designed to encourage families to read regularly with their children and help build strong literacy skills before entering school.
The morning concluded with a festive library parade and birthday cupcakes in honor of Dr. Seuss, providing a fun and memorable experience for the children in attendance.
Participation in events like this reflects the Nazareth Police Department’s ongoing commitment to community policing and positive engagementwith residents, particularly with young members of the community. Programs that bring officers and families together in positive settings help strengthen trust and reinforce the department’s role as a partner in the community.
The Nazareth Police Department extends its appreciation to the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity staff and volunteers for hosting a successful event that promoted literacy, community partnership, and youth engagement.
