On September 5, 2026, at 10:50 pm, Nazareth Police were on patrol in the area of South Broad and East Prospect Street when they noticed a vehicle with a lighting violation. A traffic stop was initiated, and upon interacting with the driver, officers detected the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and participate in Standard Field Sobriety Testing, which they complied with. Following the testing, officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was then transported to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where they were turned over to authorities. Meanwhile, the passenger was permitted to take possession of the vehicle at the scene.
