On August 12, 2026, at 12:27 AM, Nazareth Police were patrolling the area of Easton Road and South Broad Street when they noticed a vehicle traveling west on Easton Road. The vehicle was stopped at the traffic light, revving its engine, and then proceeded to roll through the red light. The officer followed the vehicle and observed that the driver may be impaired. A traffic stop was initiated, and the officer made contact with the driver. During the interaction, officers discovered that a minor child was in the vehicle but not properly secured. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and perform a series of standardized sobriety tests. After completing the tests, officers believed the male driver was operating the vehicle under the influence. He was taken into custody and transported to the Northampton County DUI Center for processing. Meanwhile, an additional officer remained on the scene until a family member arrived to take custody of the child.
