On April 16, 2026, Nazareth Police responded to a call on South Liberty Street regarding a dog inside a vehicle with only slightly ajar windows. Upon arrival, officers found a small dog confined within the vehicle. Despite multiple attempts, they were unable to contact the owner. Given the high temperatures, officers utilized a lockout kit to gain access to the vehicle, rescued the dog, and transported it to the Nazareth Police Station. A notification was left on the vehicle, instructing the owner to visit the station. The owner was eventually located and informed that they would receive a citation for animal neglect. The dog was subsequently returned to its owner.
