On August 11, 2026, at 6:51 PM, Nazareth Police were in the area of the 100 block of South Broad Street when they observed a vehicle make an extreme abrupt stop, nearly striking another vehicle. A check of the vehicle's registration revealed that it was suspended due to insurance cancellation. As a result, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Upon contacting the driver, officers suspected that the individual may have been driving under the influence. The driver agreed to participate in Standard Field Sobriety Testing. Following the testing, the officer determined that the driver was likely operating the vehicle while under the influence. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Northampton County DUI Center for processing. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
