Lower Saucon Township – Northampton County

LOWER SAUCON TOWNSHIP DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY

Lower Saucon – Northampton County announces a Snow Emergency effective February 21, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. through 9:00 a.m. on February 24, 2026.

Snow Emergency Information: Lower Saucon Township has found it necessary to declare a “Snow Emergency” due to the potential for a significant winter event projected to start at 4:00 a.m. Sunday into Monday.

During snow removal operations, parking is prohibited in all cul-de-sacs and dead-end streets to allow Public Works to effectively clear streets.  In addition, residents are strongly encouraged to remove parked vehicles from ALL roadways to aid Public Works Snow removal efforts and are also encouraged to stay off roads and avoid travel unless necessary.

Snow emergencies are declared to remove vehicles from the roadways, so they are not damaged from plowing operations and to ensure the safety of the plow operators.

Again, the Township has declared a Snow Emergency because of an impending storm with snow forecasted.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Watch the Township Website, Facebook Page and media message boards for additional information concerning the Snow Emergency.

Daytime storms present the most challenges for snow removal. Vehicles driving on newly fallen snow causes icy road conditions. Please be cognizant of deteriorating road conditions. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Lower Saucon Fire Rescue requests all residents with fire hydrants near their properties to assist them by clearing ice and snow from around these hydrants.

Keep in Mind: One of the most challenging winter decisions a municipality has is declaring a snow emergency. Various weather resources are monitored including AccuWeather, the Weather Channel, 69News, the National Weather Service, Weather Underground, and others. After reviewing those feeds a decision is made with our underlying objective being public health, safety and welfare.
