On June 10, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a male attempting to open a fraudulent account at the Embassy Bank located at 3495 Rte#378.
Upon arrival, officers found the male still on scene and took him into custody. During the investigation, the individual provided false identification. After being transported to headquarters, he was interviewed and eventually provided his real name, admitting to attempting to open the account using someone else's identification.
The male stated that he was to be paid $1,000 by an unknown individual for his assistance in opening the account. He was subsequently transported to Northampton County Central Booking for processing, arraigned on charges of Access Device Fraud, Theft by Deception, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and False Identification to Law Enforcement, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Police credit the alert bank employees for their observations and prompt notification of police for the successful apprehension of this male.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
