On October 6, 2026, officers responded to Ace Hardware, located at 1805 Sullivan Trail, for a retail theft report. Store management reported a male suspect entered the store, selected a chainsaw, and exited the store without rendering payment. An officer viewed surveillance footage of the incident, which also showed the suspect enter a vehicle and the vehicle's registration. The suspect was positively identified as Michael Mayers, who had four prior retail theft convictions. As a result of the incident, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Mayers.
