On February 18, 2026, at approximately 2:05 am, officers responded to the 2200 block of North Delaware Drive for a report of a motor vehicle collision, involving a vehicle into a tree, with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, officers did locate a vehicle crashed into a tree. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Steven Schanewolf. An officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Schanewolf. Schanewolf's BAC was determined to be .165% within two hours of operating a motor vehicle. As a result of the incident, Schanewolf was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - General Impairment -2nd Offense (M1), (1 count Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Highest Rate - 2nd Offense (M1), (1 count) Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages (S), and (1 count) Careless Driving (S).
