On January 4, 2026, at approximately 8:43 pm, a Forks Township police officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Mill Road and Indian Trail. After stopping the vehicle, the officer immediately detected an odor of marijuana and observed the driver frantically attempt to pass something to an occupant in the rear passenger seat. The officer approached the vehicle and the driver opened the window, where the officer again detected the odor of freshly burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Rahmir Coley, who admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle. The officer conducted a search of the vehicle, which yielded 69.9 grams of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The suspected marijuana later tested positive for THC. Coley was charged by criminal complaint with (1 COUNT) POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA (M), (1 COUNT) POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA (M), (1 COUNT) DRIVING WHILE OPERATING PRIVILEGE IS SUSPENDED OR REVOKED (S), and (1 COUNT) USE OF MULTIPLE BEAM ROAD LIGHTING EQUIPMENT (S).
